As mentioned below, the center part (hour disk) will have a different color and finishing* A vintage computer on your wrist?! Vintage 9-Track Computer When I was small, sci-fi shows and movies I saw sometimes had those cabinet-sized computers and gigantic tapes. When looking at the Vinyl Record Watches I designed, that memory came into my mind. And so I took an inspiration from this old computer IBM System/360 's 9-track tape , which is a magnetic-tape data storage format. I was born in 1985, so I never saw that kind of big computer systems in my real life. So that memory always stayed in me as something that gives me classic sci-fi vibes. And I wanted to bring that into reality. A vintage computer on your wrist, how sci-fi-cool is that! The Design And so I wanted to make it like this, utilizing both the case and the dial of the Vinyl Record Watch, but with a new chapter ring and the second, minute, hour disks. The second disk and the chapter ring are in off-white color. This is the color that reminded me of these old plastic casings of the computers (well maybe old personal computers, rather than cabinet computers) back then. The chapter ring has a slightly shiny texture. There are white color on the 12, 3, 6, 9 o'clock. And red, green, blue colors are above 9 o'clock indicator. The minute and hour indicators of the chapter ring were inspired by buttons / light-up indicators of computers and panels of that era. ( IBM 2401 tape drives at the Computer History Museum , Photographter: Don DeBold) Like the indicator lights on the top of these tape drives on the picture above! And these white, red, blue, green color are hand painted each pieces! What Time is it? It might actually be slightly easier to read the time compared to the Vinyl Record Watch. For example, this below image reads: 10:10 Hour : The disk you can see at the center is the Hour Disk*, with a dark element being the hour indicator. The hour disk you of the prototype you will get will be replaced with a silver colored electroplated disk, with a longer matte line, like this image: Minute : The off-whit
