Ludens is the KOJIMA PRODUCTION studio icon and mascot designed by Yoji Shinkawa that was originally born from the idea of an astronaut exploring a digital space. ANICORN designed SPACE LUDENS with KOJIMA PRODUCTIONS using the NASA logo as one of the design motifs, it is a perfect alignment with the concept of œbringing fun into the unknown universe. The timepiece is fundamentally induced by the Ludens EVA (Extra-Vehicular Activity) Creative Suit. SPACE LUDENS Timepiece supervised by Yoji ShinkawaSPACE LUDENS is a œEVA Creative Suit on the wrist. It reflects the ethos of Ludens who connects the elements of Play, Time and Space. The timepiece is designed by ANICORN, supervised by world-famous character designer Yoji Shinkawa (KOJIMA PRODUCTIONS). Design Case and Bezel The timepiece has a mecha space-armor touch. Its case is made with 316 stainless steel and covered with 4 corner nails that resonate the Turing pattern on the Ludens EVA Creative Suit. The motto œFrom Sapiens to Ludens of KOJIMA PRODUCTIONS is precisely engraved on the bezel at the 9 and 3 o™clock positions. Dial and Hands On the dial is the NASA logo, as well as an engraved serial code that appeared on the arms of the Ludens EVA Creative Suit. On the dial there is a debossed metallic surface and a gold brushed piece comes from the Turing machine. Including the watch hands and rotating second disc, all design details are faithful to the original design of Ludens. Bracelet and Buckles SPACE LUDENS includes two straps for different styling: a stainless steel bracelet featuring the buckle straps of the Ludens; and a carbon fiber pattern leather strap for lighter activities. The choice of carbon fiber printed is a reflection on the skull mask motif of Ludens. Case back The logo of KOJIMA PRODUCTIONS as well as SPACE LUDENS are inscribed at the back of the case. A window on the back of the case enables the beholder to view the internal mechanism like observing a machine.
