The Hunley Edition of The Captain pays homage to the first successful combat submarine, lost at sea for over 100 years, but recovered successfully in 2000 just 4 miles off the coast of Charleston in our home state of South Carolina. This watch comes standard with a vintage-style stainless mesh dive strap reminiscent of those often worn by captains and divers decades ago. The "Charleston green" dial in a sun ray pattern is everything you'd expect in a watch dedicated to our favorite city. The Captain is our first automatic watch to utilize our newest H 3 technology to provide 24-hour illumination of the dial's hour markers and hands — meaning your adventure can start before dawn and can keep going well after the sun sets. The trigalight ® glass tubes manufactured by MB-Microtec in Switzerland create luminosity that leads the way during offshore pursuits at any time of day or night. As any angler knows, comfort is key. That's why we uniquely machine the crown on the left side of the casing to avoid hand and wrist irritation for the active sportsman. This watch features a 316-L surgical stainless steel case with anti-reflective sapphire crystal and date window at 4 o'clock. The crown screws down for water-tightness tested to 200m/660ft.
