Description Technical Specs Questions Islander Automatic Turtle Dive Watch with Blue Dial #ISL-301 When Islander was first created, model numbers ISL-11, 12 and 13 were modeled after the classic Seiko Turtle watch. With the new ISL-301, we seek to use that same iconic case, only this time, place a sea turtle on the dial. It's a turtle, with a turtle! The 45mm case with an offset screw-down crown at 4:00 has a combination of brushed and polished surfaces. Thickness is 15mm and tip to tip it is a very wearable 47mm. The watch has a 200 meter water resistance rating. Inside the case is an NH36, 24-jewel automatic movement with 21,600 vibrations per hour. This self-winding movement supports hand winding and hacks (seconds hand stops when you pull out the crown). Power reserve is about 41 hours fully wound. The day and date mechanics have been removed, so while there is a ghost position, there is no ghost clicking. The dial is kept sterile, so you can view the gorgeous artwork of the Sea Turtle. Instead of numbers on the dial, we have moved the hour numbers to the lumed ceramic bezel (uni-directional) so it also serves a dual time function. The dial has enhanced visibility due to the use of an anti-reflective double-domed sapphire crystal that also guards against scratches. The anti-reflective coating is on the underside of the sapphire and it show a bluish hue at some viewing angles. For low light visibility, the blue hands are generously coated with BGW9 Super-LumiNova that glows blue. The ISL-301 watch comes on a two-piece blue FKM rubber strap with stainless steel keepers and buckle. Note that the lug ends are drilled for easier strap changes.
