In the 1950s and 1960s the Coupe des Alpes, also known as the Alpine Rally, was among the most prestigious and formidable rallies in the world. An 820-kilometre three-stage dash across the Alpes featuring some of the most breathtaking and perilous mountain passes in Europe. Ollech & Wajs, in partnership with Rallystory, has created a Special Edition Rallychron chronograph to honour both the legacy and longevity of this famous event. FULL DETAILS The OW Rallychron was itself inspired by the golden age of motor racing and modelled on Ollech & Wajs competition timers from the 1960s. Alongside the Coupe des Alpes signed dial, the Special Edition chronograph incorporates the iconic Alpine blue of the competition rally plaque. Under the hood of the Rallychron is a highly tuned and track-tested, custom-engraved automatic Valjoux 7753 – a descendant of the historic Valjoux 72 movement that powered the best Swiss chronographs of the 60s and 70s, including several OWs. The movement is fitted with a commemorative OW "Coupe des Alpes 2025" machined rotor. It is then regulated, adjusted and power-tested in five positions, thereby qualifying it for the OW Precision rating. It is presented on a stylish and highly durable M-Heritage medium-gauge, stainless steel mesh bracelet, with OW engraved on the thorn-style buckles of both.
