The L.U.C 1860 Revolution Edition Lucent Steel with untreated gold dial is our take on one of the most important dress watches of modern times, the 1860. First released in 1997, the 1860 served as the launching point for Chopard's L.U.C collection which saw the brand step onto the stage as a top-tier watchmaker. Last year, Chopard celebrated this model with an updated version in Lucent Steel, which refined the details but took away none of the good stuff. The Revolution version follows in these footsteps, with a perfectly sized 36.5mm case in recycled Lucent Steel, powered by the 96.40-L, which is very similar to the original Calibre 1.96, except with added hacking seconds and without a date display. The dial is, frankly, superb. It's made by Metalem, and is pure, untreated gold. This rich, refined material is perfectly contrasted with with the bright, stark Lucent Steel of the polished bezel, resulting in a watch that is fulll of both dynamism and old-world charm. Deliveries will be in batches, from mid-February to mid-April.
