A reinterpretation of the classic WW2 pilots watch. The pilot watch (or Observation watch) was developed by the RLM (Reichs-Luftfahrtministerium, or Reichs Ministry of Air Transport) in WW2 for use by navigators in conjunction with charts and other tools. One distinct feature of the watch was the triangle marker at 12 oclock flanked by two dots. It gave a quick indication of the upward orientation of the dial during night flight. The triangle also functioned as a solar compass to find the earths true north when used with sextants, compass and data charts. While keeping the design of the dial clean and true to the original pilots watch, a sandwich effect was created for the Caspian. This involves the use of 2 dial layers to create a slight layered effect which could be appreciated up close. 42mm Brass case, 50mm lug to lug length and 22mm lug width. 13.5mm Thick Seiko MechaQuartz Domed Sapphire Crystal Water Resistance of 100m Engraved logo on crown and caseback Sandwich Dial BGW9 Superluminova or Orange Superluminova 1 Year international warranty
