What makes the Lancaster 045 unique: We often like to describe the concept of Vortic watches as a beautiful clash of old and new, and the Lancaster 045 truly represents that objective. Weve found and restored a pristine 1927 Hamilton Watch Company pocket watch and brought it into the 21st century as a wearable piece of history — with a little something special. In the light, this clean, single-sunk dial with bold black numerals illustrates what one normally visualizes when thinking of a classic antique pocket watch. But turn the lights off, and this piece is anything but generic. Our watchmaker, Kent, has painstakingly adorned the indices and hands with light green NoctiLumina, a modern — and much safer — version of the luminous paint that originally adorned many of the pocket watches from the early 20th century. To highlight Kents meticulous work, weve housed this pocket watch in our machined stainless steel case and gave the inner bezel ring a mirror finish to reflect the glow. A stainless steel open case back reveals a high-end 19-jewel movement and a blue leather strap matching the original gothic hands completes the look.
