What makes the Springfield 044 unique: Most American watch manufacturers offered customized, engraved movements for special orders, and the Illinois Watch Company was no exception. The pocket watch within the Springfield 044 was one such private-label piece. Originally produced in 1923 for H.C. Jacobsen & Son, this 17-jewel movement is marked with the trade name "Penn Special". The dial is clean and classic, painted white and accented with black numerals and seconds track and blued steel kite hands. We've preserved this refined timepiece in our sandblasted stainless steel case and paired it with a classic black leather strap.
