What makes the Springfield 053 unique: During the 1800s, most American-made pocket watches were made with enamel dials. However, this trend faded in the early 1900s and was replaced by metal dials because of their artistic appearance and durability. The Springfield 053 features a 1925 Illinois Watch Company pocket watch with an Art Deco metal dial, exemplifying the style that made this new material so popular. A matte-finished border surrounds a grooved subdial and butler-finished dial center, while blued steel kite hands circle angular black numerals. The 21 jewel movement is just as impressive with its gold accents and dignified Geneva stripes.
