Our watchmakers applied themselves to master the craft of heat tempering steel. The hands are individually polished, then carefully heat-treated to an even and consistent straw-coloured finish. The alchemy of each enamels reaction to silver produces unique outcomes, particularly apparent in the textured – even crystalline – Fumés. The inky quality of the green is penetrated by flecks of starry light. The silver dial blank is stamped to have a domed top, which allows the enamel to have greater depth – and therefore depth of colour – around the outer edge. We developed the technique after noticing a gradient effect in a dial that had accidentally been warped in the kiln.
