PAST REINTERPRETED PIONEER One Gütenbach, April 12, 2018 - The traditional company Hanhart from the Black Forest is launching the new PIONEER One, an entry-level model in the PIONEER collection. The historical inspiration for the three-hand watch was an icon of the 1950s from Hanhart: the 417 ES Flyback (cal. 42). The PIONEER One combines a vintage look with state-of-the-art technology. MODEL FROM THE 50S Past meets present PIONEER One - timeless design, which has been admired over the past decades, has returned with modern technology and as a three-hand watch. The movement of the hands and the basic design of the dial are based on the iconic Hanhart 417 ES Flyback. By reducing it to a three-hand watch and using the latest watchmaking standards, Hanhart brings the unique charm of the early 1950s back to life. VINTAGE CHARACTER THE PERFECT EVERYDAY COMPANION The PIONEER One measures 42 mm in diameter and 12 mm in height. The typical Hanhart leather strap with stainless steel rivets emphasizes the vintage character of this watch and ensures a pleasant feel on the wrist. It is the perfect everyday companion, whether for work or leisure. The historical character has been combined with the modern Hanhart logo to perfectly complement the PIONEER collection. DARKNESS? NO PROBLEM SUPER LUMINOVA® The dial is easy to read in any situation thanks to the large numerals that light up at night and hands that are also coated with Super-LumiNova®. HANHART KAL. 42 THE ICONIC PREDECESSOR The Hanhart Cal. 42, a flyback caliber with manual winding, was introduced in the 1950s and was a further development of the Cal. 40 and 41. The design of the hands and numerals of the PIONEER One are based on this iconic model. The caliber was installed in the Hanhart chronographs 417 and 417 ES (the stainless steel version), which were originally produced for the German Air Force. For this reason, the watch is also known among connoisseurs as the "Bundeswehr Chronograph". In the 1950s, around 500 were made of brass and 500 of stainless steel. They are a rarity today and therefore extremely difficult to find and acquire. Hanhart chronographs were often an aesthetic model for the design of numerous military and pilot's watches from many well-known watch manufacturers. WATERPROOF UP TO 10 BAR ROBUST HOUSING To ensure the best water resistance and robustness, it is equipped with a closed, screwed case back like its predecessors, which guarantees the watch a water resistance of up to 10 bar QUALITY LEATHER OR STAINLESS STEEL COMFORTABLE TO WEAR The PIONEER One is comfortable to wear from day one thanks to the strap made of sturdy, durable calfskin. A high-quality pin buckle ensures that the watch is held securely in place.
