What makes the Lancaster 054 unique: With its dial, hands, and movement produced in 1949, this dark, angular Hamilton pocket watch conversion is a 75-year-old stealth bomber. Although its sophisticated black case and black, made-in-America leather strap try to make this timepiece fly under the radar, the beautifully aged enamel dial with distinctive Arabic numerals is so eye-catching that it makes subtlety impossible. At 43 mm, this 10-size pocket watch conversion is our most conservative size. It features an angled bezel, slanted lugs, and a scallop-knurled crown. The case, machined from a single piece of stainless steel, has been sandblasted and finished with a DLC coating. The Hamilton 917 movement, a testament to meticulous craftsmanship, is slightly more modern than our average conversion. Its Geneva-striped plates, bridges, and spiral-machined mainspring barrel are beautifully showcased through the sapphire crystal case back. The dark, patinaed baton-style hands are also a slightly more modern design. However, the total package, with its matte black case components that are - at the same time - understated yet begging for attention, would look as stylish last century as they do today and as they will in a century to come.
