The Springfield 392 is the 392nd one-of-a-kind piece in Vortic's "Springfield" line of the American Artisan Series. This watch contains the original movement (timepiece), dial (face), and hands from a vintage (1880s – 1950s) pocket watch. The American Artisan Series is a line of fully American Made wristwatches powered by restored, U.S. made pocket watch movements. The detailed, double-sunk dial with gold leaf accents and intricately machined lines within the center make this piece stand out. Accompanied by rounded Arabic numerals to match the full moon, blue hands, this watch has the one-of-a-kind feel that we love to accentuate. It is powered by 19 screw-set jewels that are vibrantly accented by gold-plated screws and gears. The ¾ center bridge plate complements the separate finger plates that help secure the escape wheels. A double roller action helps the balance wheel maintain accuracy and avoid overbanking. This watch was originally manufactured in Springfield, Illinois in 1919. At the same time, not far away in Boston, a unique historical event known as the Great Molasses Flood'' occurred, overtaking the streets of Boston with over 2.3 million gallons of molasses.
